Government Legislation to Restrict All Liquor Licenses - We Need You To Oppose

The Liquor Control Reform Amendment Bill 2021 before the Victorian Parliament this week will limit the ability of all businesses with a liquor licence to advertise and promote their businesses, right when the industry most needs to regroup and rebuild.

These new laws will sanction all advertising that is 'directly or indirectly sexual,' effectively allowing the VCGLR discretion to ban any business with a liquor license from advertising altogether without appeal.

Are these ads acceptable? Not if you've got a liquor license they’re not.

I urge you to familiarise yourself with the Victorian Government's proposed reforms which grant unchecked power to reject almost any marketing or promotion by licensed businesses, and to penalise them by banning them from advertising.
